Our environmental approach

Page cover image

Since the creation of Linterfaces guesthouse, I have given a central place to the environmental approach. I therefore do everything possible to minimize the impact of our activity on the environment in order to limit climate change.

Preserve the planet, for us, for you and for future generations. To do this, we practice eco-friendly actions in all our daily tasks. We choose our service providers and suppliers according to their sustainable and social commitments.

But then, on a daily basis, what differentiates Linterfaces chambres d’hôtes from a traditional guest house?

The CO2 meter

I set up a methodology that allows to count the kilos of CO2 saved during a stay at Linterfaces guesthouse.

For example, a night with us generally saves 1 kilo of CO2. Added to this is an additional 1 kilo of CO2 saved for every 10 kilometres travelled in our electric cars Zoé.

Since the beginning of this adventure, over 8 tons of CO2 have already been saved.

The electric cars

Since the creation of Linterfaces guesthouse, we have chosen not to advertise. Our only means of communication: a TripAdvisor page on which we invite you to leave a review. Our communication is done solely through your comments. Thanks to the money saved, we decided to invest 7 years ago in 2 Renault Zoé. These fully electric vehicles are made available to our guests during their stays of at least 2 nights, completely free of charge.

By using these electric cars rather than traditional cars, you limit the release of CO2 into the atmosphere. With this service, our aim is to reduce the impact of your holiday on the environment by also promoting the use of public transport to come to us.

The environmental charter

Discover our environmental charter which presents our objectives and what implement on a daily basis to achieve them.

Save water

We have installed water savers and pressure reducers on taps and showers to reduce water consumption.

Outside, we have installed a water collector to water green spaces to limit the use of drinking water.

We check our water and electricity meters every month to better control our consumption. Each room equipped with individual air conditioning has an electricity meter.

We replace towels and sheets only upon your request.

Save energy

The entire house is supplied with 100% green and solidarity electricity by the company Enercoop. Enercoop is the only 100% green electricity supplier with a direct contract with renewable energy producers (hydraulic, wind, solar, biomass).

All our lighting is equipped with low-consumption LED bulbs.

We have installed presence detectors/timers in the common areas and corridors to ensure that the lights are not left on for nothing.

The rooms

Sort and limit waste

All rooms are equipped with a trash can with 3 bins for recycling. To assist you, we have set up a display that explains how to sort in accordance with local regulations.

We sort all types of waste. Organic waste is recycled in our composter.

We work with a majority of products in bulk or in large packaging to limit unnecessary packaging.

We do not offer any disposable tableware. You can use the dishes provided. After use, leave it in the kitchen, we will take care of cleaning it in our dishwasher which is much more ecological and hygienic.

Improving the well-being of our customers

Breakfast consists of homemade jams, organic bread and artisanal croissants made by our local baker.

The products used for the maintenance of the guest rooms and the house are eco-labelled, ensuring better air quality. We have banned bleach, a product that is highly irritating to the respiratory tract and toxic to aquatic organisms.

Our green spaces are maintained without pesticides, and we use alternative methods to toxic products to combat weeds and insects. Linterfaces guest room is non-smoking (except in the garden).

We have partnerships with local recycling centres to which we donate our old equipment and furniture.
